Blue Jays open up interleague play against Mets
The Blue Jays have struggled during interleague play, a fact that has been obvious when they have faced the Mets. After sweeping the New York Yankees in a two-game set, Toronto will try to get its schedule against the National League off to a good start tonight when it battles the New York Mets for the first time since 2006. Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko was hit by a pitch from the Cubs' Jeff Samardzija and had to leave Friday's game in the third inning with a laceration above his left eye and swelling. Full Story.

The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Milan Hejduk to a one year, $2 million contract on Friday. Last season, the 36-year-old Hejduk scored 14 goals and added 23 assists for 37 points in 81 games. Full Story.
