New Kids On The Block
In a surprise move, the Canada West Athletic Directors put forward a motion at their annual winter meetings to officially accept The University of Winnipeg into the Canadian Interuniversity Sport - Canada West Conference in the sports of Men's and Women's Soccer. The motion received 100 percent approval at their meeting yesterday in Calgary, Alberta. Full Story.
Head of the Class
Ben Heenan remains the top prospect for the 2012 CFL Canadian College Draft. The CFL's scouting bureau had the Saskatchewan Huskies offensive lineman atop its top-15 prospects list Tuesday. The six-foot-four, 310-pound native of Grand Coulee, Sask., was ranked No. 1 on the initial list Sept. 19. Full Story.
